circus mexicus shake, raffle & roll
Join fellow fans and support several charities Circus Mexicus contributes to every year by purchasing raffle tickets for chances to win fantastic prizes and experiences. All money raised stays in Penasco and helps a children's home, a youth sports foundation, a family support organization and group who uses horses to connect with kids with special needs. Fans are also encouraged to bring or purchase donated items in Rocky Point (see requested items below).
On Saturday June 11th, a fan-based group form a caravan to La Casa de Esperanza to deliver truck loads of donations from their published "Wish List." If interested, join their facebook page HERE.
Requested items are kitchen goods (cooking oil, cleaning supplies, canned goods, etc.), personal care items (toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, etc.), fresh foods (fruits and milk) and cash. Everybody is encouraged to bring whatever supplies they can and drop them off at Banditos on Friday. All of these items are also available in Puerto Penasco at stores such as Super Ley, Sam's Club and Walmart.
Here's what the Rocky Point Times had to say.
ROGER CLYNE’S ROCK AND BEACH SOCCER TOURNAMENT
A few years ago while juggling soccer balls in Roger’s front yard, the idea to bring a beach soccer tournament to Circus Mexicus was hatched. Each year, fan response from Mexico and the U.S. to participate as players or fans has grown. Sometime around March, registration at www.peacetimegoods.com begins. Find at least 10 friends or look for teams on RCPM social media, decide if you’re competitive or in it for the fun and sign up! A modest registration fee includes an Adidas jersey and day of fun. Hosted by Roger, the tournament starts Saturday morning at Circus Mexicus in June at 9am on Sandy Beach in front of the Sonoran Sea Resort and goes until about 2:00. Live music, cold beer and fun is had by players and watchers alike! Funds and gently used soccer equipment are greatly appreciated by players and fans alike and are donated to the Penasco Youth Sports Foundation. Please note: Pool at Sonoran Sea is for guests, but players and fans will have beer, margaritas and water available for purchase on the beach. Additionally, anybody is welcome to use the restrooms at the Sonoran Sea and use their parking lot for the soccer tournament.
Also, If you've got other sporting equipment such as basketballs, skateboards, sneakers, air pumps, etc., please drop them off Saturday at the tournament. Thanks to Four Peaks Brewing Company and Young Builders, we’ve been able to keep our version of La Copa del Mundial alive and well.
